Crispy Tofu Hunan Style

  • Boil tofu cubes in hot water, strain and then mix salt and potato starch
  • Now deep fry the tofu till crisp
  • In a wok put some vegetable oil then add chopped ginger, chopped garlic, chopped onion, chopped celery, red pepper brunoise, green pepper brunoise, chilli flakes and black beans
  • Stir fried nicely then add fried tofu, add salt, veg broth powder, batons of spring onions, sesame oil and chilli oil
  • Stir fry everything together, check for seasoning and serve hot



  • Tofu-250g
  • Chopped ginger-5g
  • Chopped garlic-5g
  • Chopped onion-5g
  • Batons of spring onions-5g
  • Dry chilli flakes-8g
  • Black beans-2 gm
  • Red pepper Brunoise- 5g
  • Green pepper Brunoise-5g
  • Chopped celery-5g
  • Veg broth powder-2g
  • Sesame oil-2ml
  • Chilli oil-2ml
  • Vegetable oil-5ml
  • Sugar-2g
  • Potato starch-20g
  • Salt- To taste
