Thai Pavilion was one of IHCL’s ambitious culinary projects to introduce Thai cuisine to India back when Indian palates had not warmed up to Thai flavors, Thai Pavilion was India’s first authentic Thai restaurant, Ever since the day it started, the restaurant got a phenomenal response.
The sheer fact that it has existed for 25 years in the Maximum City speaks volumes about its greatness. Today, Thai Pavilion is counted amongst one of the top 26 iconic restaurants in the county, an honor bestowed upon it by the prestigious Conde Nast India and consistently winning the Times food awards for the best Thai specialty restaurant in Mumbai for years.

Chef Uddipan Chakravarthy who was once the Executive Sous Chef of the restaurant during 2006 was instrumental in launching the new avatar of Thai Pavilion; he played an integral role in assisting Chef Ananda Solomon for conceptualizing the entire food & beverage philosophy of the restaurant. Uddipan has been with the Taj for over two decades and has created many successful restaurants for IHCL. He took over The President as an Executive Chef in 2016 and since then the restaurants have reached newer heights in making The President, Mumbai a sought after culinary destination in Mumbai.
