Bombay Brasserie Wins Design Award 2016
Bombay Brasserie, London
Bombay Brasserie, one of London's finest Indian restaurants, has won the prestigious Hotelympia Restaurant Design Award 2016 for the most impressively designed new or refurbished full service restaurant in the UK.
Hotelympia, in association with GS Magazine, announced the winner on the Stage at Hotelympia, UK's largest foodservice and hospitality event, at ExCel London on Monday 29th Feb 2016. Chef Sriram and Steve LaBouchardiere from Design LSM (the interior designers) received it in person. Bombay Brasserie won the award for Best Restaurant Design for its new stunning interiors.
The new interiors have been designed to create a more indulgent and luxurious feel. Bombay Brasserie partnered with DesignLSM who drew upon the restaurant's established heritage. The agency emphasized the restaurant's colonial style by introducing materials such as rare woodwork sourced from Inda and Portugal, plantation shutters, traditional ceiling fans and customised brass lamps from the 'brass city'Maradabad. A very rare feature is the adivasi (ethnic/tribal) inspired hand-painted wall in the tropical orangery.
An external seating area with hanging pendants and sumptuous cushioned seating creates a clam oasis, whilst the newly designed bar, replicating an open drinks cabinent, is the perfect destination for anyone who is looking to enjoy drinks in a relaxing and stylish setting.
Ever since 1982, when its doors first opened in fashionable Kensington, London SW7, Bombay Brasserie has been an iconic restaurant destination, famed for its authentic, eclectic Bombay and Indian cuisine.
